If that’s the case, how would you fix that? Undo and retighten under load?

Thunk is most likely a sway bar issue as mentioned. I actually loosened mine shoved some bicycle tube in there to prove it was those bushings. It was and that tube is still in there a couple years later.
On the arms, you just need to loosen the nuts, let them settle and tighten them back up. You can do it whichever way works for you, using a jack or with the tires on if you can fit.
