Yeah I was going to say the same thing. For me going with a full length roofrack (SSO) was a no brainer simply for the fact that when I need it
it's there. Growing up, my dad had a pickup truck with one of those full length bar setups and I can't tell you how many times thats come in handy for hauling things (wood, ladders, canopies, camping shit, etc).
I wouldn't want stuff mounted to it 24/7 because I'd need to remove it if I were picking up sheets of plywood for a project. Also because I think I'm already too close to the height of my garage now that I'm 2.5" lifted. xD
The other reason I wanted a full length was for easy mounting of an 8.5" awning. I don't leave it on all the time either but it has quick release mounts which make it a piece of cake.
