The appeal for me is being able to haul some lumber, trim, plywood, pvc pipe etc with my 4runner. Like you I went with LFD, but the full length and in stainless steel for no rust and strength. I have no RTT or rotopax, my rack purchase has nothing to do with serious camping, but some of our daytrips could benefit from an awning which now becomes an option.
