It's the tabs on the front of the skid plate. The tab has an extra "kink" in it that makes you have to wiggle it to get it out, if the truck isn't up on jacks. On my second oil change, I got out my angle grinder (Dremel would work too) and trimmed the kink off the tabs. Way easier to take the skid off and on now.
