I’m so dumb, help!
Ok. I’ve killed a few more billion brain cells with scotch over this one. Replaced the alternator, removed a radiator hose, plugged everything back in and topped of the coolant reservoir, started her up just fine and decided to go get some lumber for another project 20 minutes away. Got there, noticed a funny smell. Popped the hood, tapped the reservoir to look at the fluid line and whammy, gargling and hissing and bubbles coming out into reservoir, coolant leaking all over the ground. I FORGOT TO TOP OFF THE RADIATOR. I top it off with some antifreeze that I picked up for the purpose, and fluid is leaking from some unidentifiable source near the engine but coolant is everywhere and it’s hard to say where. The hose I removed and attached while replacing the alternator is fine. The coolant stops going everywhere and I drive home while I can because it’s 7 degrees Fahrenheit outside (luckily in this case). When I get home, coolant is flowing everywhere again, and again from some identifiable source back in/around the engine. All hoses seem fine. What the hell did I do to my precious other than being an a$$hole and is there hope!?
