No the aftermarket lugs do not have a washer.
My process has been like most of
You described - tighten in a star pattern while in the air as much as I can, then drop to the ground and do the final torqueing.
I think I just need to make sure I’m extra careful about making sure the wheel is nice and evenly aligned & torqued for the initial torquing. Then check again periodically.
