Dealer 'fixed' stripped thread but threads are in fact not fixed
Hi all,
I usually avoid the dealers but a time crunch forced my hand after stripping threads on an alternator bolt (female threads). Brought it in to dealer service techs and they said they could fix it and I said great! Got it back and the bolt keeps turning just like before. I assume a tech just ran the same sized tap through it and called it a day...Would this constitute refund territory? Does toyota do helicoils? Didn't think that was such a complicated procedure lol... Paid 600$ all said and done for Alternator removal, a 're-tapping repair' ........ Anyway don't go to the dealers folks!
