The plan is to completely bypass all the stock JBL stuff and run an active 2 way front stage... does anyone know a good place to tap into the front door speaker wiring so I don't need to run new wires through the door jams? I heard it's a helluva process so I'd prefer not to tackle that at this time.

All the searching I've done in the forums have turned up inconclusive since most were for non-jbl trucks and/or for speaker replacements running off the stock head/amps. Thanks in advance!
There's a connector on the passenger kick panel that has all the speaker wires and that you can reuse to avoid rewiring the vehicle. All the speaker wires run through this connector except the passenger rear door wires if I recall. I did this mod in my 2013 LE a couple of years ago when I replaced the JBL head unit, amp, and speakers. Let me check if I can find the schematics and I'll post them later.
