Last year I was on the hunt to come back to a 4Runner, by trading in my 2016 Tacoma. I had stumbled across the GX platform and had driven a few to end up settling on a 2017 GX460. I honestly cannot say that I regret the upgrade. It's definitely smoother and great for longer road trips as nobody in the family has complained yet. I look forward to modifications in the future.
My wife likes the GX460, but still prefers a 4Runner if she is driving as the GX does seem slightly bigger.
