Paint splash

Remove splashed paint.
Hello everyone, I need some advice on cleaning one of my my step rails. Recently I somehow drove over white wet paint. It’s only a few small spots on one side but I failed to notice it until after the paint had dried. I tried washing it off and even tried using a small wire brush but no luck. The step rails are a flat black textured finish and I was wondering if I can just get a can of flat black paint and spray over the white spots, will this work? Thanks in advance. Corky
