Toyota ballpark aims the headlights. The dealer doesn't touch them unless requested by the customer.
I parked my 4runner about 3 car lengths behind one of our other cars. The low beams were shining over the car (Dodge Magnum). I adjusted them down, where the "cutoff" was just below the Magnum mirrors and back window. Amazingly, they now illuminate the road in front of the 4runner!

Perhaps THIS was the reason “stock halogens suck” [emoji23]
Now I hear nothing but praise about the high beams in halogen models. Double duty as DRL but in the BiLED housings the DRL is the only function of the inner reflector housing.
Glad to hear you invested the time - I had seen several complaints about halogens in other headlight threads.
