I am currently running Toyo Open Country AT's in a 265/70/16. I have had them on since around the spring and summer of 2006. I replaced them 2 at a time. I am horrible at rotating them, I think they have only been rotated 2-3 times, but the tread wear has been great. I have put somewhere around 50K-60K miles on them and I still have about 3/32 - 4/32 of tread left on them. I will probably be replacing them this fall. These tires are pretty quiet on the highway, the only time I notice the tire noise in when taking corners or under moderate braking, then the tread on the shoulders tend to bite a little more, thus making a little more noise. These tires require very little weights on the wheels to get them balanced. I have had them off road in rocks and mud and they have not failed to perform. I know that these tires are cheaper than the Nitto's. For example, right now on
www.tire-easy.com the Toyo's are $112 each and the Nitto's are $135 each. That is close to $100 difference for a set.
I would not hesitate to go with these tires again. This is what I will be replacing the current set with in the fall. Hope this helps.
