Agree [emoji817], the OP did a fantastic job, however I'm with you, if the bearings on the alternator were bad I would replace the entire alternator.

That being said, swapping the brush holder literally took 5 minutes and at $20 cost for the Toyota oem part, I would go this route over a parts store alternator any day.
