I've read this somewhere else too. If true, this would make life during the install a lot easier! That being said, it seems several experienced 4Runner folks seem to opt for doing both breathers, which then puts me on the fence.

Do you have a rear locker but did the diff breather extension only? Everything still kosher?
Mine seems just fine with just the diff breather and I've done plenty of water crossings. When I get around to it I'll probably hook up the breather on the elocker though.

I did change the fluid after the install/water crossings and nothing funky came out, it was actually crystal clear
