NO SPEEDO - CEL + ABS/VSC Lights (2001-2002 4runners)

before I begin, this thread is a good resource for anyone with this problem. I have ordered a used ABS ECU before I started to troubleshoot because of this thread and because I have a P0500 CEL code...

Speedometer/Odometer Not Working + Related Warning Lights (P0500)

Symptoms: No speedometer, ABS and VSC Lights are ON, E-brake light is on, and CEL light is on

Now, question for the audience: Where can I find ABS trouble codes that can be read through a series of blinks on the dash cluster?

Is this info in the FSM?

After jumping the Ts and E1 terminals on the engine bay diagnostic port, I get a reading of the ABS code via the ABS light series of blinks...

my blinks on the ABS light are:

3 blinks
*pause

3 blinks
*pause

3 blinks
*pause

4 blinks
*pause

4 blinks
*pause

4 blinks
*pause

then sequence repeats....

counting these blinks we get 21 blinks total.

That code apparently is the Right Front Wheel ABS Actuator solenoid circuit...
could be an open or short... which is interesting because that's the same front wheel hub that I suspect has a bad wheel bearing..

and so the fact that the ABS light is flashing tells me that the ABS ECU isn't completely shot, although there could be a failed component inside still

my research shows that when an ABS light is always on (no flashing), means ABS ECU malfunction which would warrant an ABS ECU replacement..

Does anyone have any ideas on this issue?
