Not sure what housing your referring to but the fuel pump assembly is connected to the top of the fuel tank with 8 or 10 screws. It should come out easily unless somebody used sealant on the gasket. If that's the case then you'll have to carefully pry it out. The only thing holding the pump to the assembly is a short piece of fuel hose pushing the pump against the bottom of the assembly.
