My experience was a bit different, I got the Cali with plates and bump outs because I like the idea of the mount brackets wrapping under the frame, just seems stronger to me. Mine do flex a little when jacking though, not enough to hurt anything maybe 1/4-3/8". The front bracket on the left side was off about 1/8" so I had to slot one of the holes, but I still love em and got a great price last summer.
