FS 2001 4Runner SR5 4X4 - $2,800

Selling a stock 2001 4Runner 4X4 with ~258,000 miles - 3.4L V6 Automatic Transmission

Still runs like a top but I am prohibited from investing any more of my time in it. I have still been driving it quite a bit and it shows no signs of slowing down.

Things that I believe a motivated DIYer can fix:

CEL is on and is throwing a code of P0446. I suspect that it is either whole evap canister needs replacing or the VSV may just need servicing. It is original evap canister. Canister is located under spare tire in rear so very easy access.

SRS airbag light is flashing intermittently. I have checked wires and had a shop run diagnostic codes and no fault is indicated. Vehicle passed inspection in Virginia since light came on. I suspect that replacing the front driver impact sensor may solve but don't know for sure.

Someone in my household backed into something recently and skewed the driver side rear bumper end and the rear bumper face. The rear bumper face already had a hole rusted in it for years and needed replacement one day anyway. Parts to replace the bumper end and face can be had for between $200 and $300 (aftermarket!) and can be installed by DIYer IMHO. The vehicle has been driven many times since the bumper was damaged and no issues.

The driver side rear tail light cover was also cracked but still functions normally

The rear defroster is shorting out and blowing a fuse almost immediately after turning on but I have not investigated this - it only gets below freezing where I live a few times a year

For some reason, the steering and front shafts make a lot of noise but it does not affect driveability whatsoever. I have been over it looking for any problems as have some shops but nothing seems to be wrong except it is just noisy.

Recent(ish) fixes:

Alternator has been replaced within the last couple of years

Exhaust (rear of cat converter) was replaced recently

Radiator was replaced within the last couple of years (it was fine until I accidentally broke some fins while jacking up)

Tires (Cooper Endeavors) were installed June 2022

New shocks, ball joints, and both inner and outer tie rods were installed within the last couple of years

Aftermarket CV half shafts installed last couple of years

Changed sensors and valves on fuel tank (that fixed the last CEL)

Front rotors replaced within last couple of years

Other:

Paint is fading on roof and hood after 23+ years

4wd has been used recently and functions normally

Vehicle was not used many times on trails or excursions and mainly road and commuting mileage - some boat and jet ski towing done

Interior is gray cloth (will post some photos once I have time to vacuum) and is in decent shape after two decades with no rips or tears

Thanks for checking out the post. Please PM me if interested in looking at or have other questions. I am located near central and SE Virginia.

I would drive this vehicle cross country and back with no hesitation
