New engines usually have a break-in period of 500 miles. You're suppose to vary the speed over that period and avoid long drives at the same speed. After the 500 miles break-in, you do an oil and filter change. So, I don't know if going on a 3-4 hour road trip with your freshly rebuilt engine is the best decision. It would be better to mix up the first 500 miles with city and freeway miles.
