IIRC, 4th gen is drive by wire. I don't have experience with T4R but I have added cruise control to a Ford which had drive by wire. It was done by swapping steering wheel to add cruise control buttons and then enabling cruise in the PCM. PCM was configured for cruise at the dealer. Sorry I can't be T4R specific.
