Geolanders are a proven model line, the Road & Trail is a new model. Overall, Cooper has almost 7 times as many recall entries with NHTSA as Yokohama. I've personally had better luck with the Yoko brand than Cooper overall. I'd personally go with the Yoko all other things being equal, but you'll find many Cooper loyalists that will disagree. You did say "thanks for any input", so I'll just say, if I could find a model that fit what I was looking for as far as driving experience that matched the Cooper or Yoko you were looking at, I would go with a Falken or Toyo brand over either of those.
