JohnnyHightrain's '98 LTD Build
After about a year of owning my 4runner and living in hawaii having a blast with it. I recently moved to NC upon from returning from afghanistan I am now in the process of waiting for everything to finally arrive:
1. Toytec ultimate 3" lift w/ blistien 5150 reservoir shocks.
2. 2"inch body lift kit
3. 1 1/4" spidertrax wheel spacers
4. 16x10" Procomp Series 87 wheels
5. 4xinnovations rocker sliders
Still shopping around for tires and front/rear bumper in the mean time.
will post pics once parts come in and the build starts.
Before: And...After!!! Voila!

That sounds like a great list! Look forward to seeing the after pics.
One question. You're planning on running a wheel spacer on a 16x10 wheel?

Yea I am planning on running a 315/75r16 sized tire and from what I have been reading on most builds that I am basing mine off is that most people are running a 1 1/4" wheel spacer to minimize frame rubbing at full lock. I also want to widen the stance a tad. If it turns out to be too much by adding the wheel spacers, I can sell em if anything i guess..

Thanks for your service!
As Hepar mentioned... This setup:
Quote:
3. 1 1/4" spidertrax wheel spacers
4. 16x10" Procomp Series 87 wheels
|
Is going to rub like hell, especially with 315's. Not to mention your tires are going to stick out at least an additional 4" over stock. The stance is going to be crazy wide.

Good luck with everything. Your 4runner reminds me of mine right before I started modding. If you need any help let me know, I am just south of you.

Still waiting on parts considering the fact that 16x10 rim with 315 is going to require alot more trimming and cutting just to barely make them clear the wells at full stuff. I could make it work but it would serve mainly as a mall crawler if i go that route. 16x8 with a 305 70 r16 is probably what I am going to do.

I run 315s on the stock 7" wheels w/ 1" spacers and I still had to trim a good bit off my fenders and hammer the firewall in about 1.25" flatter to not rub at full compression. A 10" wide wheel will force you to trim a lot more than necessary to fit those tires - even with a 2" body lift (as opposed to my 1" bl). The final backspacing (with or without spacers) that you'll want to run for 305s or 315s is 3.5" - 3.75" (with stock UCAs). I personally wouldn't go larger than an 8" wide wheel to avoid unnecessary trimming.
The trimming you need to do for 315s isn't that much more than the trimming you have to do to fit 305s. I've ran both sizes on my 3rd gen. I say go big.

Called 4wheelparts and changed the order for the rim size width to 8". I dunno where in my head I figured that a 10" was gonna work right. I swear all I have been doing the past year in spare time is reading build threads. After thanksgiving I should have the 4runner and parts sitting in my garage.
