ABS/VSC/TRAC Disable Master Thread

In order to avoid loading multiple threads into the Documentation and Reference Thread, I wanted to assemble all the different ABS threads into one that we could load in there, so here goes:

ABS Disable on E-locked 4Runners - '96-'00 and some pre-wired non-locked's)
AKA the Yellow-Blue Wire Mod
ABS Switch - Easy, effective and simple

ABS Disable on non-E-locked Runners - '96-'00 (2 methods)
ABS Disable on older 3rd gens
Updated thread:
ABS disable V2.0 for older 3rd gens (On/off on the fly)

ABS, VSC, TRAC Disable on '01-'02
Disable VSC, TRAC, and ABS without damaging factory wiring

VSC, and TRAC Disable on '01-'02
Disable VSC/TRAC Only
Disabling VSC & TRAC - 2001-2002 4Runner with VSC & TRAC Systems - YotaTech Forums

Disable VSC and TRAC but not ABS on '01-'02
AndyMod 2.0. ABS Remains Active. - YotaTech Forums

A couple guys mention disabling VSC withouth disabling ABS or TRAC, If anyone has a write-up for that, post it and I will add it. Same for any other methods of disabling any of these, post them here and I will add them.

Just got done with this mod yesterday, i love it! I was so disappointed the first time i went out to "play" and figured out there would be no fun to be had with the 4runners nanny mode. Only took about 35 mins to complete!

Good job. I have to do this soon, as sliding through intersections in the snow is way not fun.

Has there been any update to this? Has anyone found a way to disable just the VSC alone on the 01-02?

I just did this one. Took 15 minutes and works great. Disables VSC and TRAC but not ABS.

Nelsonmd - Thanks for consolidating these links... My ABS was f'ing with me just yesterday & I can't wait to disable it.

I read the first two links - it didn't look like anyone was able to get the Yellow-Blue wire mod to work...? Dylan's writeup (second link) looked like the best option for 2000 and earlier 4R's.

Updated the first post. Thanks for the addition.

Glad people are finally noticing this thread. I thought it was useful, but it got very few views at first...

There is no reason for the Andy Mod on a 2000 4runner as it did not come with the VSC/TRAC

You can also just remove the ABS fuse if you are not good at doing wiring. But then it's always off, I was having a problem with my VSC/Trac coming on randomly, I think I have a wheel sensor going out on one of the wheels.

Just remember that ABS fuse is bolted into the box and a bit trickey to remove. The dash lights are kind of annoying but I think i'm just going to pull the LEDs when i wire in my ARB compressor/locker.

ABS on these trucks is pitiful.

Beeping truck..

So I'm new to the forum. I'm on my third t4r. A 1990 .. A '97 limited and now a 2002 badlands. The 02 seems to have more fancy computerized gadgetry than I used to...
I was out on some logging roads on the weekend (2002) and if I was a little too fast though washboard washouts the truck would beep at me.... Beepbeepbeep....annoying as ...... What system was doing this and how do I turn it off... Or should I leave the system on and disable the beep? The truck handled great.... Any ideas or comments from those of you that have been playing with this longer than I would be appreciated

Dan

Unhappy

Do you have to put a switch in? i live in AZ where there is no snow, so I really don't need it on ever. I just want to cut the wire.
