Time off = Preventative maintenance. Some advice please.

Hi guys, I'm expecting some time off work around the holidays and thought I would use the time to work on the new truck....while I'm still saving for the lift etc...

I want to do tranny cooler, LBJ's, and replace front/rear seals on transfer case.

I'll buy OEM LBJ's and seals, but was wondering if anyone had any good/bad advice on a tranny cooler.

I was thinking B&M 70268 SuperCooler from Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/70268-SuperCoo.../dp/B000CIGE9G

Please let me know if you have any other recommended options and if anyone can think of anything else I should check/replace while I'm working on these specific projects.

Also wouldn't mind if anyone found any good prices on these items.

Thanks in advance.

Where are you at in PHX? Is the LBJ an easy job? Want to do it on my truck but there are no write-ups.

That B&M is a good one. There's a few good write-ups on here that help out quite a bit.

If the truck is new to me, I like to change all the fluids. This way I know for certain that they have been done and when they were last done. It also helps if you keep a log of what work you've performed and when you did it.

I can then also gauge whether or not anything is leaking or if the truck itself is consuming oil or antifreeze.

Flush and bleed the brakes is always a good idea, and X2 on change all the diff/TC fluids, and do a drain & fill of the tranny fluid while you're at it.

Thanks for the feedback.

If anyone else does not have any other recommended options, I guess I'll go with the B&M.

Yep, so far all I've needed to do was change the oil and top off the brake fluid. Checking the other fluids should be easy enough.

I went with the 70266 B&M bc of the TX heat. It's a little bit bigger but still fits fine. Since you are in AZ it might be worth the extra cash to get the bigger one. Just my 2cents.

B&M 70264; it is deeper and offers a little better cooling ability. Either one will work as long as it is mated right up against the condenser in front of the fan.

While tackling the above project, drain and refill the transmission a couple of times unless the fluid is nice and red.
