'97 4R: Keyless entry remote & alarm remote

Ok, I've searched the archives and I'm still confused...All of the keyless entry remotes on ebay are for '98 and newer...I've got a '97. One post said they were compatible, another said not. Can ayone with a '97 (or anyone with the correct info) let me know the numbers on the back of the remote so I can double check them against the ones on ebay and be sure I'm geting the right one? I don't need a costly mistake like others have unfortunately made....

Mine only came with a key and no remotes, although it does have keyless entry and the alarm for sure....which leads to my next question: The alarm remote is separate from the entry remote right? I found some on ebay (the black one) but is $55 + shipping. Is this a little high? I have the RS3000 unit under the driver seat. I know not to buy the grey ones, but just wanted to see if that price sounded right...thanks again all!

This link should answer any questions about the alarm and remote. It also shows how to program a remote. You should only have a single remote for the alarm and door locks.

Aftermarket Keyless Entry system for RS3000

Is it possible to purchase an aftermarket keyless entry system and splice it to my RS3000?

Do you know if it's connected to the RS3000 black box underneath your driver seat? I was wondering if it's spliced into the black box or behind the dash
