Tacoma or Tundra 5100's?
Alignment shop said my shock bushings are too worn to be able to align it... so time for new shocks even though i wasn't planning on it for a few months.
I see guys don't like the tacoma ones because their too soft... and i've heard of people going with the tundra ones.
Which ones should i go with?

Do you want a softer ride like factory or a firmer sportier ride?

are the adjustments the same?

The Tacoma ones have 3 where the Tundras have 4 settings. Are you going to be running your stock coils?

Since you have tundra trd coils, I say go with the tundra 5100s for sure. That's what I have and it rides great on the 2nd setting.

I think Ive read online about people being unhappy with the tacoma 5100s being too soft and don't match well with the tundra coils. With the tundra 5100s its stiffer than stock, but my stock suspension felt like a boat. The 5100s feel nice and tight, but not hard or bumpy. and my gf has no complaints and I'm happy with em lol

I would get Tundra rears regardless, and with your TRD Tundra front coils I would get Tundra fronts as well.

I agree with the above. But if you had stock coils, i would say go with the Taco 5100's.

Tundra 5100's it is... do you guys think i can still use my top plates? i ran the toytec 3/4 spacer with ext studs. idk if i still have the original studs though. i'm ditching the top plate spacer obviously so i doubt i can use the extended studs with just 5100's and no spacer

I'll buy top plate spacers when you get rid of em! I think you will be fine with the extended studs.

I have Tundra 5100's with my TRD coils set on lowest perch setting and they're a perfect match for the progressive coils. It can't get any better than that as far as comfort and handling/balance goes. When I go off curbs and large dips, there is absolutely no bounce and makes it feel as of it never existed until the back end goes over it.
I'd say leave the 3/4" spacer in if you want to stay at that 1.2" additional lift height over the 2" TRD coils. I wouldn't recommend pre-loading the coil via the perch any more than a couple notches if you want to retain the ride comfort though.

I have extended studs that I bought a few months ago. I have so much damn rake and wanna level it out lol. I got 5.5" in the rear and like 2.25" up front. To get it near level I think I'll have to adjust the 5100s all the way on the highest setting and I don't think it'll ride as nice as it does now on the second setting, so I wanna throw in some top plate spacers. If you decide to sell, I'm your guy!
