So while working on a place to install the XM satellite radio antenna today, I found this.....no wonder the rear 3rd brake light and plate lights are not working. In fact it is a wonder that anything is working back there. 5 complete severed wires and at least 3 with exposed wires. Well another thing to fix on the list. Should be pretty easy and I finally found out why the 3rd brake light never worked. In case you cannot tell this is the junction where the rear tailgate wires enter the body. I am thinking not the best place to use for the XM entry point...
On the plus side the install of said sound system is going very well. Got all the speaker locations readied up, this is not a plug and play set up, crossovers mounted, tweeters installed and all wires ran. All the wiring for the head unit is done. Need to mount it and the 4 speakers then run that XM. Should be ready for testing after that. Then reinstall all the stuff I took out! Sunday I should be jamming

Took a peek at my production info to see when my vehicle was made, and noticed that my 4Runner was made with 15in wheels - but when I bought it, it had OEM 16in wheels and definitely has the bigger brake calipers (since they required grinding when i got new 16x8 wheels.)
Guess when the previous owner said he "did the brakes" a year or two back, he meant he upgraded them!

Por15 then sprayed with fluid film

here's some after pics I took after driving it home after the motorcity auto spa place did a wonderful job detailing my car full interior and exterior, I provided them a gallon of fluid film, angle grinder with wire brush cups, fluid film gallon kit.

They did the underbody detail and painted it POR15, then sprayed it all with fluid film after. Ready for the winter!!!
They are supposed to text me after pics while it was up in the hoist so I'll post better ones once I receive them.

Other than scraping my knuckles pretty good I knocked out SPC UCAs, LBJs, and tie rods with the help of two other forum members.

Now to find a shop that will align adjustable control arms...
