Yeah, I thought I'd use the knockout panel to hold a cheap home depot switch instead of ordering a switch that fits it. Not the cleanest solution but I actually like the look of it

Installed the ARB 2000 awning to my Baja rack. Hitting the Outer Banks tomorrow. Can’t wait to try it out 🤙

Bought a 4xInnovations skid yesterday morning, mostly because they were in stock and ready to ship. Opened the web page this evening to show a buddy and now it says 8 week lead time.... well that ain't good

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?
new timing belt. homemade crankpulley holder broke at 180#, suppose to be 217#. I might call it good at 180, it seems pretty damn tight.

Whaaaaa? I'd call the man and mention that you bought it while 'In Stock'. He was always good to me. Pretty sure the owner answers the phone (name escapes me). These things are burly and I had no concerns yesterday on the Rubicon* trail - hitting a few obstacles on purpose just for fun.
* For real Rubicon runners, I only did the first 4 miles from the Tahoe side (not far past the Barker Pass junction) - no real tech sections like the meat of that crazy iconic trail, but still fun!
I'll use this excuse for a couple pics of the fat-lipped lowrider with the odd paint job'd 4XI skids. I need a bumper. Can't wait to go back.
RE: Posting my license plate online: My petty criminal past is behind me - come get some. Big Brother's AI is so far up in our mobile apps already I have more important things to worry about. Those "Your Speed Is/Slow Down"....signs on the roads with the little blue lights? My wife buys all kinds of this stuff for the local Gov and it ain't there to help you! LOL -we're doomed.

I use Photoshop to change the size and quality. I've only posted a couple photos on here, so I haven't looked into any other programs that can do it for me. But it's a pretty quick process when you know your way around Photoshop. Is there something simpler that most people use?

Yeah this forum is super old school. I work around a lot of computers, so on the Mac side (I also have an iPhone), I Airdrop the pics from my phone to an iMac or Macbook and resize the pics using the Preview app they open in, then Tools > Adjust Size to no bigger than 1000 pixels on their biggest side. Then Browse and Upload from the post. Kind of a PITA but it's really just a few clicks. If anyone has another way, I'm all ears. Not gonna bother with photo-hosting site.
Let's see if 1200 pixels works.......
OK - It does.
Absorbent pads, though.....learn something every day.

Appears I got the last one, just got my shipping notification
Edit: and apparently they're nearly 70lbs?? How the hell is that possible with 1/4in steel?? Both CBI's and BudBuilt's 3/8in skid isn't even that heavy. Guess I'm gonna have to trim some weight off it?

LOL - I just tell myself it makes the front end feel planted. I use a floor jack to drop and re-install the set. I've actually considered drilling 'Speed Holes' in them but mainly for drainage. They are bit overbuilt but at least they are US Steel! Did you get them bare metal?

Yeah got bare metal. Might just sell it to someone on here now that I think about it, but I'll try and design something first. 68lbs is beyond absurd for a single radiator/oil pan skid and half the reason I chose it is because I expected it to be closer to 50lbs as it should be.
But thankfully I just poked around my work and we have all the tools needed for what I have in mind, so who knows? Already in the hole, might as well try and make the best of it

Huh. I'm running the engine and tranny set. Probably 80+ lbs but it doesn't bother me - I know I am well protected down there.
