Lifted and on 33's !

I finally got around to lifting my 2001 4Runner. After hours of forum research I decided to do the Tundra/Landcruiser lift. All went well, however, the rear lifted more than I was expecting and the front lifted less than I was expecting, meaning I had almost a 4 inch rake. To fix this I bought and installed a 2.5 inch leveling kit from FatBobs Garage. It solved my issue great. I still have a little rake (which I need for when I do a rear bumper build).

For tires I put on 33s. To be exact the toyo open country MTs (255/85/R16). These "thin" tires really look excellent with the cars proportions.

I will be posting a thread on the build with specifics and images soon. Feel free to ask any questions.

Finally did the big upgrade today...

Old ToyTecs and the New Kings

Enjoy the pic - they will not be this clean long.

The two things left on my list - shift kit install in the transmission and wiring up the winch.

Side note: is it worth lifting a 4cyl?
Congrats on the purchase. The 3rz is a nice engine to live with. It’s not the dog that people make it out to be.

If your wiring work doesn’t fix the misfire, keep a mind toward valve clearances. That’s often the cause of misses on the 3rz. Valve clearances need to be periodically checked.

Replaced the passenger side CV axle. Third time using Oreilys imported brand due to a torn CV boot since 2009. Glad the last two have been free under warranty. Am still using the original castle nut on the end of the shaft.

The passenger side is so much easier to replace than the driver’s side IMHO.....

I managed to get the rear bumper off my moms 97. Lol it wasn't as hard as I thought since there was just a bit of chrome left, everything else had pretty much rotted away. A little bit of cutting was required.

People complain about the bumpers rusting but I think it's a good thing. They provide catholic protection to the rest of the underside.

The new aftermarket one seems ok but some of the mounting brackets are wrong and will need to be cut off, repositioned and welded back on. Yet another handy job for my welder.

Put it up for sale

Put my 1998 4runner 2wd with a lunchbox locker up for sale. Sucks that most people don't understand what a lunchbox locker is however lol.

Replaced my fuel filter on my '00. Anytime she was on it reaked like gas, especially near driver's side front door. Once removed the old filter rattled when I shook it. All better now.

(Yesterday) I finally tacked my loose steering column's telescoping failsafe thingamabob. And made shims for the tilt ball. I was super excited to have tight steering wheeeeeeeeeen I broke the tilt housing. Tragic. Going to a junkyard in an hour
