Finished bilsteins hd shock install.

Hey guys I installed bilsteins hd shocks on my 99 t4r over the weekend. So far the handling has improved and the ride is nice and firm. The fronts were easy, although I did take them to a shop to compress the springs. The driver rear was a pain. The rear pass was easier due to more space. Overall I'm happy with the bilsteins and thanks to Pitbull and the rest for recommending them.

Nice.....that first ride in it with new shocks feels really, really good.....then you get used to it.....I remember my trip home from the shop that installed them, I think I had 158k or so on my original shocks....huge difference....

since you metioned ajusa I want to give them a bump. great people, good customer support. quick shipping and the best prices.

I just did the same thing you did, but I also got new coils.(99 talls--like you already had)
Very Happy with the results.

Awesome, told you that you would like them. I have them also with '99 Tall Springs. I put 227 miles on my truck today, mostly light to light traffic. (Long f-ing day.). It rides great, very comfy even with all that seat time today.

4Runnerchuck, shocks alone won't give any lift. The only thing that will give you lift is if the spring seat on the shock is adjustable, thus moving the spring placement. Going from old shocks to new shocks won't give you any lift by themselves.

Sorry no pics of install. None really needed really straight foward. I borrowed my girlfriend dads Angle grinder and sawzall. By far the angle grind was the best. Loving the ride.

I used HD rear shocks with 99 rear coils for a very short time. Definitely did their job of absorbing bumps making everything feel cushy. Now use those same rear HD's with my OME 890's and love it even more. They control the 190lb/inch 890 coils really well and feel like a perfect match for daily driving. I must say I'm biased towards stiffer springs because compared to my cars, the 890's feel super soft unlike what people say about them being overly stiff.
