What should I ask for my 4Runner? I need a pick-up, so this one has to go.

Can you guys do me a favor and give me an idea of what my 4Runner might be worth. I've had it for 7 months, its run flawlessly, but I simply need a pickup truck. I purchased it with 152,000 miles and it currently has 159,800 miles. I routinely get 280-300 miles per fill-up and 17-18mpg in mixed driving. I've gone as far as 340 miles on a tank and 20+mpg on the highway. Its a nice truck but just doesn't fit my need right now.

Here's what it will need:
- tires are getting thin, but I don't want to put new ones on because tire choice is a very personal thing and a new owner will want to put on their favorites.
- interior needs a good shampooing. I'm not a detailer, but some scrubbing of the carpets will make a nice difference.
- rear wiper does not work. I haven't looked into it so I don't know if its the motor or switch.
- I removed the rear bumper in order to build one but haven't has the time yet. I will either put the old bumper back on(its a bit rusty)or fab up a new tube one soon.

Since you guys have your finger on the pulse of the 4Runner market, can you give me an idea what a fair asking price would be for my truck? Its nice and clean underneath and has no mechanical issues.

Thanks,

Dan

These are pix from when I purchased it.

Here it is after the Bilsteins and new springs.
Inexpensive coil spring replacements and Bilsteins

Since adding the new shocks and springs, I added 1.5" Daystar spacers to the rears. It gives it a bit of "rake" and removed the running boards. Looks totally different.

I'll take a few pictures today when/if it stops raining.

I would accept Champs offer and not look back. Not sure what you paid for it, but you're not going to get anymore than 5k.
Matter of fact, I was going to post 5k before I even saw Champs reply.

I would start with the KBB value. Its a good starting point for any vehicle. Not sure what the above comment is about, but even if you considered it in "fair" condition KBB values your truck at $6050, and I think you could get more than $5. "Good" conditon is almost $7000. Since yours will need new tires soon, and as you mentioned you have some rust on the bumper I would lean closer to "fair". If I were you I would ask $6500 OBO. You did some good maintenance which will carry the truck a long way for a future buyer, so that helps. I got my 98 SR5 with 161k miles for $6k even. It didnt have any rust, but the tires had about %40 left, and it needed maintenance work done. And in CO that was a really good price.

I agree with the $6500 obo. I got my 99 SR5 with 160k and newer tires for $5500.
