I'm assuming you have all seen this: LINK I would guess it would bolt into the existing two main holes, one on each side.

spoiler install

i took it to the shop b/c I was getting other work done so while it was there I decided to get the spoiler and just have them paint it and install it. i liked the old burtman spoiler but wasn't crazy about the brackets so when I went back to the burtman site i noticed he just made the new spoiler available - it's just how the timing worked out.

There are 10 steps in the instructions - Sohere is a summary and you can call jason or e-mail him at 717-469-4130 or [email protected] or [email protected]

put spoiler on closed hatch and use t-stips to stencil the 4 pedestals outlines, use 1/8 " drill bit to drill through t-stipand into hatch (recommended to use unibit that goes from 1/4" to 1 3/8 w/ 1/8 inch increments, open hatch and open 2 inner panels for socket accessibility, drill your led wire hole within your previously masked off area on drivers side (this is where the shop i took it to didn't follow the instructions), peel back red lined 3 m tape, small amt of silicone should be applied to the corner of the inner feet as well as existing holes caused by removing toyota oem rear deflector, line up spoiler and feed led wire thru predetermined hole, using suppiled screws secure spoiler to vehicle using a rachet , pull down rubber wiring harness boot which exposes vehicle wiring - splice the 2 wires that veer off toward 3rd breake light - the spoiler balck wire goes w/ the white & black stripes (or depending on model - the spoiler red wire goes w/ green and white or green and red wire) - splice wires together, use electrical tape and tuck in the excess wire and replace rubber boot back into poistion.

Like I said - I didn't install it I had the body shop do it because I needed to have my truck fixed in 2 other spots so any questions on install; please call or e-mail Jason or check out the burtman industries website - I think he has pictures/ details on install on his site.

Does it include a delete for the factory brake light? i dont really like the idea of a second light shining int hat gap on the spoiler.

that's where the shop didn't follow directions provided w/ the spoiler - the stock 3rd brake light does still shine - but to me it wasn't that noticeable unless you are standing right up against it.

I've only had it back less than a week so maybe it's something i'll address later. Regardless, to me I like the new look.

Good to see this on another silver 3rd Gen. It looks great; but of course I'm partial!

This mount system is much cleaner.

The new spoiler had a metal rib in the middle layer of the mold so you can screw directly into it from the backside.

Agreed, the old system used an ugly metal strap to hold on the top side of the spoiler and the original deflector holes were still visible.

Burtman is offering these color matched to your rig when you purchase it. The install is pretty straight forward but you will need a second set of hands to hold it in place while fastening.

So are you using self tapping screws to drill from the backside of your hatch into the metal plate molded into the spoiler???

the answer to your question is yes - also the below are basically the instructions that came w/ the spoiler:

I am very happy w/ it and it really does it give the truck a new sporty kick ass look.
