Looks good.

Is this spoiler actually functional? Does it help redirect the boundary layer and reduce drag? OR is it purely aesthetic?

This reminds me of my interest in trying some aftermarket vortex generators on the front roofline of my t4r

I found with mine it did help to keep the dust off the back glass off-road, but other than that I think its purely for looks.

i read somewhere that the stock one is meant to push air down the back window to prevent things like dust snow and rain from collecting there while you drive, i heard that it also prevents the exhuast from coming in while you have the rear window open.

Rob4r I know this this is an older post...but wanted to know if you ever installed your door sills?? If so, how do they look...and better yet, how are they holding up? Could you possibly post up a couple pictures?? Thank you for your time...it's much appreciated!

spoiler and door sills

Hi regarding the spoiler - I did it for looks and I still love how it looks.

regarding the door sills - here's my post from when I installed them w/ pics.

Burtman Door Sills

March will be 13 years I've owned this 4runner - I've probably got another 10 years left.

Thanks,

Rob

Anytime.

Next 2 projects this weekend are trying to fix the tear in my drivers side seat (I tried this before without success) and upgrading my stereo and fixing my antenna for the 3rd time - I'm done with the automatic antennas.

It's been about a year and a half since I did anything so it's time.

I also have a tear in my drivers seat, the leather. What are you going to try?

I'm gonna try this - bought it off Ebay.
Maybe you can pick them up cheaper separately.

I have a huge tear so I'm gonna try and find a scrap piece of leather first and glue it behind the leather hole, glue other flaps down, sand it and paint it.

I saw a youtube video of some guy do something similar to a mercedes front seats and it looked good.

I'll give it a shot when I have time and will post pics.

Ok cool. Oh, there is extra leather on my seat by the seatbelt. A decent sized flap that is tucked in. Maybe you can use that too. I'm assuming they leave this extra on purpose?
