Radio Backlight Flickering

Hello all, I have a 2000 4Runner SR5. The green backlight for the radio and climate control is flickering and I am trying to figure out what's wrong. Is there a way to replace this light? I have never pulled apart the radio/dash, so needless to say, I am a novice when it comes to this stuff. Any recommendations are much-appreciated!

Mine was doing the same and has now gone out. I did pull the unit apart but could not figure out how/if there was a way to replace the light. I will buy a new radio eventually.

The radio AND the climate control? I ask because they are separate. I have a 2000 SR5, too. My radio backlight has pretty much gone out, flickering only occasionally. I just consider that a sign that it's time for a new HU. My climate control light went out on the left side, and that's replaceable. Assuming you have the manual climate control, it's just two small bulbs behind the center dash frame.

I have a 2000 limited but my climate controls and radio lighting went out recently and i literally just replaced the bulbs today. Replacing the climate bulbs are a piece of cake, but from my understanding you cant really replace the radio ones. Since my radio lights went out i guess it make for a good reason to upgrade decks, but check your fuse's i think the one in particular is the ACC but im not positive.

Changing Bulbs in A/C unit!

I'm not sure if the link helps but i took the part numbers from the thread to toyota and they charged me like $30 for all four.

+1 Mine went out long ago it still flickers on for a second if a punch the dash near the radio.
Took it out added tape to snug the multi prong conector worked until I finished reinstalling it, gave up! Now I just read the buttons like brail.
Maybe its a fuse? Im really not sure what it could be, but try punching the dash lol
I think a used HU is about 40 dollars
