CBI Rear Swing out bumper

As I have time I will try to add more pictures and my opinions on the products I have installed.

CBI rear bumper with swing out:

CBI as a company was good to deal with. The bumper took two weeks longer than originally promised but I was never given the runaround and they were always strait with me. They even honored the next months special for me since I had not taken advantage of the powder coating special.

The fabrication and finish of the bumper were amazing. The welds were outstanding and the craftsmanship was top notch. The fit of the bumper left a little to be desired as some holes needed to be opened up to get the bolts in and shims had to be used to level the bumper to the body.

Here are some pictures of the install:
Test fit

Welds

Paint

Finished product

Shimes were added later to level this out

I like the painted to match bumpers, makes them look much less like a home made mad max type add on. On the other hand if I had a 4Runner that spent serious off road time I would certainly just rattle can them so I could do "touch up" as needed.

I feel like I've seen the GS before, have you had it in any shows in the past couple years? I thought about picking up a 430, but went with an MR2 for my daily fun. Figured the 4Runner was luxurious enough to haul around 3+ people if I needed too.

Dig both rides! Always been a big fan of the GS series. Yours is sick. Also liked the painted rear. Might go a similar route someday.

The only place I previously damaged my rear bumper is no longer there. I am hoping with the smaller profile I do not bang them up to bad. I can have hem re-pinted for the cost of the paint so it is not that huge of a deal.

The GS realy only goes to shows in Missouri but it has been in some backgrounds of pictures in magazines.

Updated the first post with a current mod list.

More info on the rear arms as requested

The Joint ends are Johnny Joints from Currie Enterprises. If you want exact part numbers PM me I will have to find the Email with it. The smaller joint was not exactly right the ID was a little small. The larger joints where perfect. The bushing ends where made by a company called Unusual Fabrication and took a while to get but I was happy with the end product.

The middle section is .120 chrome moly and are on car adjustable.
