**Rear roll down window**
Do all 3rd gen 4runners have a rear roll down window? (the trunk window)
Specifically a 2001 SR5 sport package.

All model years have it. 1985-2012 has it, every trim, engine, drivetrain, color, package has it. You get the idea.

1k dollar option from the factory. All 4runner's with this option are worth more.
That's what I tell my friends.

I've long wondered if Toyota has the power rear window patented, trademarked, or otherwise protected, because no one else does it. It's such a great idea. It seriously is almost a deal breaker for me to even consider any other SUV or truck besides Toyota.

pretty sure most of the station wagons of years past had roll down rear windows. I know my dads old 63 Bel air wagon did. Wasn't power of course.

I think it's just more expensive to produce and build? All I know is I love the fact that the Tundra Crewmax, Sequoias, and 4Runners have them.

They definitely don't have it patented because plenty of other SUV's and cars have the same feature. The old Bronco's, Ram Chargers and Blazers have the same feature, but have since been fazed out. I'm not sure why though. This seems to be an amazing feature and very unique. I open mine every day and use it to create a nice air balance in the 4runner while on the freeway.

Buddy of mine has a silverado he bought used and the back window went down. Had to be aftermarket but the job looked professional.

I felt like I won a prize when I found out the key rolls down the window from the outside.

We had our 4runner for 3 years before we found out the key rolled it up. Felt like a giant moron.
