That's some of the best Photoshop work I've ever seen! Amazing story, glad you're alright.

What an amazing story...
I'm glad to hear you're alright, but I have to say I immediately thought of Bill_Dunningan's thread the second I saw those pictures.

Awesome, thanks for sharing and sorry for your loss but glad you guys are ok.
Surprised the Parks Dept didn't fine you for cutting firewood without a permit.

DANG, glad everyone is okay and it sucks the parks department blew you off. I love the part about driving 20 miles to the bar afterwards...CLASSIC.
Good luck in your search and hopefully you end up in another 4Runner.

That is scary. Good thing no one was in the car, I likely would've hopped in the back of mine and waited out the storm exactly where that tree fell.
Whenever I camp in the woods I try to make sure there are no dead trees in the area that can reach my tent/car.

Oh My-lanta, you folks were pretty lucky. Glad to hear you're all safe. Good luck with your search for a new 3rd Gen.

Glad no one got hurt, physically. Shared your story at work...was going to say your kind of a Rock Star but it's really the truck I guess. That misadventure would make for a good commercial...Toyota and/or insurance.
Driving off with it attached to your car? Priceless!
Seriously though, good luck on a quick replacement. That rig was really nice looking and I'm sure you'll miss it.

If you're looking for opinions on different 4runners / tacomas / land cruisers - give richard stubbs a call. He's owned all the 4runner generations and i think a few different land cruisers too. Plus, he loves to talk about anything toyota related.....
