Opinions of wheel color choice on my ride

I am looking to upgrade my ride, 1999 limited w/ elocker. There is a plethora ( I love using that word ) of information on wheel types and such, and so my mind is ready to explode with all of the options out there; 255/85/16 vs 285/75/16 vs 285/70/17 etc.

I know I want to end up with 32-33" aggressive tires (mud tire), so I will need a lift (currently 99 coils + spacer), I will be buying front and rear bumpers (I haven't decided on brands yet, but I like the plate bumpers) and some sort of lift. Last year I bought new shocks (high country I think), maybe they will work or not, possible body lift as well.

Anyway, I am leaning towards a 17" rim. I think I like the Konigs CounterSteer Type X. The colors available are matte black and matte bronze.

Since my runner is black with the "brownish" limited flairs, I can't seem to decide which color would work best. I have considered using bedliner to cover the limited cladding making the truck completely black.
Are there any photoshop experts out there who could show me how my truck would look with the different colored Konigs?
Here is a pic of the way my runner sits now. ( big pic for editing purposes)

Bronze. Unique and I just want to see what it looks like. Ive thought about going to bronze wheels myself.

I think bronze would look cool too if you paint the flares and cladding black. Otherwise I don't think it'll look right. My $.02

I'm in the same exact dilemma with my 4runner. I have the same exact paint scheme as yours. The wheels I have on it now are what I bought it with which honestly doesn't look that bad. You can check out my build thread to see. I like the tan colored flares and bumpers, but I plan on getting a plated front bumper in the near future and don't think the black front would match up right. I've contemplated spraying bedliner on the flares and bumpers, but I'm thinking I'll eventually just go get them professionally paint matched.

I think it

would look nice with some 255s or 285s and some lift the way it sits with the OE five stars. YMMV

In personal preference, I would pick some sort of matte black wheel. But then again, I'm not a flashy guy. But if you can, put similar wheels up to your car or even photoshop to see the difference.

Yep, I am not a photoshop guy, that is why I posted up the request here

Actually, 4Running Daily posted up a request on tacoma World; they have a dedicated photoshop section...how cool is that!

When I had unpainted alloys I wanted black ... when I have black wheels I want aluminum. Either way you go its a loosing battle.

How do you like your Pro Comp wheels? Do they stick our farther (width wise) over the factory ones? That is more of the look I am going for, a deeper looking wheel than the factory ones. I have always liked the look of a wider stance, and I have been think of aftermarket vs wheel spacers and the stock rims. I think whatever I go with I will end up with 5 and have the spare on the outside on a tire carrier style bumper.

Yeah these wheels have 3.75" backspacing so they are pushed out a bit. I still am running wheel spacers (spidertrax 1.25") since I like the extra stability and look. I had to do a lot of hammering so there is no rubbing...but so far so good. The 285 km2s are more like a 32.. they are freaking tiny.

The procomp wheels are cheap and built in China. I will probably go back to a Toyota wheel sometime . I do like the look of them for sure and at $100/wheel it doesn't break the bank

So one of the fine fellows over at Tacoma World did a photoshop job, blacked out my limited bumpers and cladding, and added the bronze wheels....What do you guys think?

That looks good, but it needs some bronze accent. maybe like a pinstrip or something along the cladding and flares?
