Well folks, the time has come for me to make a tough decision and unfortunately that decision is that I will be selling the 4runner. It has been a tremendous journey over the years building it to where it is today. So many good memories with the family and with friends wheeling and camping with this thing.

It has come time where it is no longer large enough to suit my families needs so it needs to be sold to have cash to put down on the next family camping/exploring vehicle. Fitting my wife, 7 year old son, and two mid size dogs with gear for anything more than an overnight trip is no longer a comfortable endeavor. Unfortunately that means its time to get into something larger and more comfortable for the long haul.

I am planning on selling it as equipped for the right price including lighting, winch, hilift, CO2 tank, etc. Would like to start fresh I guess and see where life takes me and my family.

If interested or know someone who is, please keep a look out for the for sale post in the next couple of days. I'll post a link here as well so its easy to find.

Thank you all for keeping an eye on my build over the years and the amazing support you all have shown. This will always be the best forum/platform for the comradery and discussion that I have been a part of.

Cheers

I enjoyed reading through your build thread when I first started on this forum. It's sad to see you go, but hopefully the next owner will enjoy this as much as you did. Any idea on what the next platform might be?

Thanks Bad Luck.

As it will need to fill the spot of my current work vehicle for the next 5 years, I have been looking at new F250's. Hoping for a 2022 lariat short bed with the new 7.3 gas motor. I currently have a 2017 F150 XLT at have had no issues at all with it other than the wife complaining on long trips with the cloth seat comfort. With the cab size being the same on the F250's and the payload/towing increased sizably, it would be a better vehicle for the long term with plans to get a camper at some point for longer family camping trips. Build will likely be fairly basic. (Still has to function as a work vehicle for now) Carli pintop suspension, 35's, lighting, winch and storage/racking/shell to mount our James Baroud Evasion XXL RTT when needed. Just want to be able to get out there and explore more with the family in a little more comfort and space.

If I end up wanting to get back into crawling more, I will likely look at alternate toys to tow out to where i'm going.

What do you do that you have to provide a truck (F250) like that for work?

I do outside sales for a local CAT dealer.

If my work didn't reimburse some of the monthly expense there is no way I would be able to afford it outright. I would have to put down my F150 as a trade in plus a good amount of cash to get payments that were reasonable.
Also working to sell my 79 Vokswagen diesel rabbit as well to help.

Vehicle choice is mine for the most part (American Mfg, 5 seater, non luxury or specialty, etc) but work pays a fixed amount. A Superduty is just a vehicle I have wanted for years and with my families changing needs, it makes sense to utilize my work's reimbursements to help offset the payments.

Not ideal but it will be nice to not have 4 cars including the wife's and the expenses that go along with each right now. (Insurance, registration, space, etc)

Looking for a fresh start really.
