Power steerking pump RESERVIOR leak...

Changed out the power steering pump today on my '99 2.7 because the dealership told me I have a "leak." After changing it out (and doing a flush) I noticed that the reservoir cap was a little wobbly and loose. Is this normal? It seems like the leak is coming from the sides, underneath the metal cap on the power steering pump reservoir, and not the actual pump itself. Aha2988 (BTW is definitely the know-it-all when it comes to 4Runners but that's a whole 'nother story) and I worked on it for a bit, thoroughly cleaned the reservoir and popped it back on with the new P/S pump. We'd drive it around for a good bit and check on it and it always seamed to be leaking...

Thoughts?

No. There should be a spring in the cap that puts tension on the cap when it is locked into place so no fluid escapes.

With a rubber seal, if the seal has become brittle it could leak, but the reservoir is not pressurized, it would only leak on a steep incline
