Do our 3rd Gen 4Rs have them? I've searched the boards and found nothing so far, but on my other 2 SUVs (Exploder and Wrangler), there was a shock-absorber-looking "steering stabilizer" that was replaced at ~90k miles. If I remember correctly, it's there to smooth out and slow down hits to the steering system so your fingers don't get mangled. Interestingly, my Benz sedan had one too (though I don't think the engineers ever thought it would see rock-crawling conditions).
I'll be freshening suspension (and a lot more) on my 4R when I do the 90k service and want to know if this should be looked at as well, provided there's one under there to begin with...
Thanks!
