Anyone know what types of rims these are ?

I think they are upgraded Toyota rims since they are 16s and stock the 4runners came with 15s. My friend insists they are after market rims. And according to the dealer sticker, that I found in the glove box when I bought this, the original owner bought the 16s from Toyota

Your friends are right. Toyota never made that wheel. Not sure what it is but it is definitely after market.

And most 3rd Gen 4Runners did come with 16's, not 15's.

kinda looks like a Ion wheel. Generally will have something on the backside of the wheel that could give you an idea of what kind it is.

This is what I've come to understand: Basically, if it could have been ordered with 15" wheels from the factory, it shows that on the sticker.

All Base model and SR5 models came standard with 15" as noted on the sticker, yet dealers would opt for 16" rims when ordering their inventory from Toyota (which, when actually built after ordering, automatically came with bigger brakes, etc)

Limiteds and I think Sport models all show 265/70/16 on the sticker since you could not get the 15" at all on those models.

Example: LINY4Runner, 01 SR5 4x4, was ordered with 15" wheels from the factory. A few of the SR5's came with 15"s, but dealers ordered 16" for the most part.

I come to this conclusion completely on my own, just based on how we order cars through Mercedes-Benz. Makes sense to me, seems to be true.
