fj crusier rear diff

today at work i replaced a fj cruiser rear diff with an elocker the new diff came with a new elocker so i kept the old diff with old elocker the only thing that is wrong with the old is that the pinion bearing was making noise. and supposedly you get that pinion bearing separate according to my parts department. so i had to replace the whole diff. is what i wondering is if someway or somehow i could use that e locker off that. if not i may try and get a whole rear end from an fj cruiser and see if i cant get it to work with my runner because that would give me my rear disc brakes i want and the elocker? has anyone heard of anything being done like this?

The pinion bearing is not that hard to change. Do it then mod your housing. The FJ housing is too wide for our 3rd gen's. they are interchangeable with 4th gen. runners.

There is a guy that actually just did this on here. I believe he used the entire 3rd from the fj. Don't remember who but he started a thread asking for help wiring it. So I'd start searching for that. Locker wiring help or something like that. Pretty sure it was in the last month or so

Sorry. I might not have used the correct terminology. He plugged the Fj diff(gear assembly whatever you call it) into his 4runner housing and had to modify his housing to allow room for the locker. He still had the drum brakes and such.

I believe the Fj housing is too wide for the 3rd gens.

Sorry. I thought that was considered the third member. But I could very easily be wrong. Wouldn't be the first sit.
