how do u adjust?

So tomorrow I'm installing my lift kit on my runner. I'm prepping everything tonight, but how do you adust the 5100 series shock to the differnt groves to get the bigger lift? Do I need the coils attached first to do it or a special tool? Thanks.

Just pull the retainer back slightly on one side and move it up, then the next side. Once it's out of the groove it will slide right up the shock body. Do it before you assemble anything.
