Grease gun

Hi folks..

today while I was at Napa.. I was like.. is been quite some times since I had lube the chassis + drive shafts..

so I have brought 2 tubes of Mobil 1 grease.. but I don't know which grease gun and fittings should I go with? is there an special one it needs for our rig?

and how often should it be greased?

also, would an pistol grip would be better over an pneumatic one?

thanks

You want one with a flexible hose (not a rigid one), makes it much easier to get into tight spaces, and to access the nipples.

I have one with a rigid hose and it works but Ian is right, a flexible hose would be a lot easier.

If you are stock suspension and on the ground, you will find it is impossible to do the rear nipple with the rigid hose. Even with a tall '99, I couldn't do it.

Don't worry about your little brothers. The are still immature.
The word "lube" throws them into a tizzy.

When they have nothing to add, they giggle trying to cover up their lack of knowledge.
They'll grow up someday.

PS: This diy on lubing the driveshaft has hints on what grease gun to buy and this thread recommended by NelsonMD discusses the Mobil1 grease you're using.
