Track Bar and Rear Body Mounts???
My 1996 4Runner suffers from rear sag, and my mechanic says that my rear body mounts are shot, and recommends i find some online for cheaper for than what he can get them for. However, I cannot find ANYWHERE rear body mounts. Also, I need a new track bar, and have been unable to locate one after checking every major parts warehouse online.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Maybe just do a body lift now instead of buying stock ones?
And are you wanting a factory trac bar or after market?

what's wrong with trac/panhard bar? Don't know how it can go bad other than needing new bushings or being bent. I am sure the dealerships have all these parts. For body mounts, are you talking about the rubber bushings? Other than oem there are plenty of 1" body lift kits to buy.

Find a new mechanic...
I really doubt your body mounts are causing rear sag. Check the sticky thread at the top of this 3rd gen section for more info about rear sag.

Rear sag is common and usually caused by old worn rear springs. Does your 4runner rattle and make noise or just sag?

Yes apparently my track bar is bent, and I had all shocks struts and springs replaced recently. My mechanic says that all 4 spring assy's have 11" of height, but the car leans 1.5" to the right. He says that my rear bushings in particular are totally ruined from rot, and my bar is bent and rusted. And btw it just sags no rattle or anything.
Any so if I got a lift kit, the parts would be those rear body mounts?
And if so where can I find these components online?
Thanks a ton

Sorry about the delay. I ended up replacing the track bar with a factory one - it was bent. The body mounts were rotted out, but I left them as they are. I replaced the shocks with new ones, and it alleviated most of the sag. However, some remains. It isn't as noticeable, but I have noticed that the sag seems fixed when the 4Runner goes up on a lift in the shop. It seems level, but after some time or offroading in a light sense the sag returns. It does not pertain to me as much as I have bought a 2003 4Runner and the '96 is up for sale. I do thank you for your help!

:bangsheadagainstbrickwall: of course it doesn't sag on a lift, the suspension is all stretched out then.
Your rear springs are shot, very common. Replace them. As for the "rot" what exactly do you mean. Unless your truck has a ton of rust, I doubt the body mounts rotted. Most likely the bushings are shot, probably the studs are rusted too. No biggie.
