Catalytic converter Replacement
So today I went out to my 4runner to go to work and when I started it, it sounded much louder then the flowmaster that I put on. So with some investigating I found that im missing 3 feet of tubing and my catalytic converter. So any suggestions on a new one. Go OEM? or something else?
Ill post some pics of the surgery when I put them on my computer.

If you have full coverage, report it to your insurance company... OEM is almost $2k.

I just got an eastern catalytic unit and new Denso o2 when mine got stolen and it has worked fine. Not sure how it will hold up 2 or 3 years down the line but it was only $70

The same thing happened to me with my Tacoma last year. As soon as I heard the deep rumble, I knew exactly what happened. I ended up going with a hi-flow magnaflow cat, $70. We'll see how long it last, but so far so good.

4runners going to dealership
So my insurance is sending my truck to the dealership to be fixed. Any ideas on if they will replace all tubing or just the section?

Unless you can't afford it go OEM on cats. All aftermarket have ~2 year warranty because it has far less precious metals in it. If you live in a state that has tight emission standards you will more than likely be replacing your cat every few years when you fail. I had my 91 toy extra cab 4x4 cat stolen. I went with the cheapest aftermarket and at the next emission check ~4k miles on the new cat I was told it almost failed.

You are not going to believe this but the EXACT same thing just happened to me 1 hour ago in the parking lot of La Madeline in full daylight(4:00).
Any other opinions on cheap cats that work well and dont throw CEL? I need to order one asap.

Catalytic Converter Thefts on Rise Again (DFW)
By Ellen Goldberg
Thursday, Jan 3, 2013
Updated 10:19 PM CST
The city of Dallas is seeing a spike in catalytic converter thefts.
Two were reported Wednesday within blocks of one another near Oak Lawn and Maple avenues.
"These people are good at this," Christopher Nichols said.
His son's catalytic converter was stolen in broad daylight outside the U.S. Post Office on Oak Lawn Avenue.
Nichols said his son was only inside the post office for about 15 minutes to mail a package.

Gonna bump this.. I'm pretty sure my OEM cat has bit the dust. It rattles horribly on start up. I banged on it a little to see if it was indeed the cat making the noise and sure enough it makes all kinds of rattling noises. What's the best option here? I don't want to spend a fortune on a OEM replacement but I don't want to buy a pos cat either that's gonna put me in the same situation a year down the road. Thoughts?

There shouldn't be any problem with using an inexpensive replacement.
I got a replacement cat at the local speed shop for my pickup for around $69 about 15 yrs ago and it's still working fine.
