She pulls to the left when braking harder, but not when normal braking...

Folks,

She drives perfect straight line, alignment done about six months back. When braking normally to come to a light or stop sign, she is also straight. However, when braking a little bit harder, she starts pulling to the left.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

G.

check your front swaybar bushings. one of mine was completely blown out and subsequently would cause the truck to pull to the right under moderate-hard braking. two new brackets and bushings later and it stops straight as an arrow no matter how hard i get on the brakes.

Thank you Ed.
So, was it pulling just when moderate/hard braking was applied or always?
Cheers!!!

i might have felt a little something under light braking but it was almost imperceptible. but, i definitely felt it pull hard at higher speeds (like on the freeway) and when i went a little harder on the brake pedal.

My 4runner does the same thing. The cause, at least in mine, is not swaybar bushings. One of my calipers bites harder than the other and pulls the car towards that caliper. Hasn't really affected my braking ability but I will be doing the tundra swap soon.

Thank you 00_4Runner.

How did you diagnose that in your truck?

Cheers, !

trying checking the thickness if your pads and see if either rotors got grooves in them. it could be that one side wore out before the other. pretty common.
