4runner audio receiver depth.. Problematic?

Called crutchfield just now. Asked why I couldn't get free mounting brackets with a clarion CZ401 in the cart.

I was told there is not enough depth inside the dash for the unit!
He didnt know anything more, so I said thanks for your time.

How have you all dealt with the problem?
And what options or moves are available to make it fit nicely?

Thanks for the help!

Rcas for my amps don't fit, ended up buying some 90' adapters for them. Then I had to tape everything behind

This should

help you insure that whatever you choose fits.

Car Selector

Ive never had problems with too little room behind the HU especially once you pull the OE amp out. It is kinda tight though. I went with a double din for the, IMO cleaner more OE look.

Please Tell me more about the OE amp.

Is it typically removed on install of aftermarket radio, or is this an insider trick?

Why isn't the factory display and the amp one unit?

How big is the oe amp?

And could a new unit with built in amp, plug into OE amp and synergize?

Thanks again
