Got my electronic Climate Control replaced - now some weird problems!

edit: I found a hose under my dash, reconnected it and all has been fine since.

--------------------------------
These guys had a climate control repair sale at $75 shipped:

1999 2000 2001 Toyota 4 Runner Limited Climate Control Repair Digital Heater AC | eBay

So I sent them my climate control unit. It was going nutzo, flashing lights, not adjusting temp digits, etc.
Got it back from repair this week and everything looked great. No more display problems.

But now I have a new problem.
The system now heats & cools. But it only has two speeds. Really warm or really cold. The temperature does not change. If I set it to 65 degrees, all it does is blow warm/hot air. Same for anything between 65 & 80. If I set it to "cold", then it starts blowing cool air. This happens even when the AC is turned on.

Any suggestions? We had a cold snap when I installed it, so I didn't notice the issue until the warm weather we got yesterday.

The repair service told me my electronic blend doors were busted. But that's not possible if I am getting both cold and hot air. It's just that I don't get anything in-between those two temperatures.
So wtf?

I don't have much experience with these, but maybe the unit is just faulty?

That is my guess also, since everything worked fine before I had to send the unit off to be replaced.
I can tear into the dash later this week if I have to. PITA.
Having a hard time finding pics of what this "door" thing looks like or where it is in the dash.
